On the way to work I pass a gas station that has a mobile sign out front that they update often.  The latest one amuses me.  Wonder why?

Funny Foto #20: Rats!

Yesterday morning one of the women with whom I work asked me if I had seen the sign on the ladies room door.  Another one started laughing and told me I needed to go take a look.  I was just a little surprised at what I saw.

We think the cleaning lady left the note.  When we ventured in later in the morning, the offending rat was nowhere to be found.  I'm not sure I want to know where it went.

Last week at lunchtime I made a quick stop at Home Depot.  As I got out of my car, I noticed the vehicle across from me not only had the yellow Baby on Board sign, the same message was on the license plate frame.

 

I was tempted to wait for the owner to come back.  I  wanted to find out if the very loud German Shepard or the Doberman that had laid down was "baby".

We haven't gotten a print newpaper in years.  It seemed that whatever was in it was stale or old news, things we had read on the net several days earlier.  But, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing.  It gave the writers and editors time to think and review their articles and headlines.

I am looking to implement a new product at work and wanted to do some online training beforehand.  The software site had several videos, but when I tried to view them, they wouldn't start.  The little icon just kept spinning.

So, like everyone would do, I "Googled" the problem.

And got this result.

A video on how to play a video that won't run.  Really?

And I'm going to watch that how???

A couple of weeks ago I placed two orders with Amazon vendors on the same day.  One arrived two days later.  The shampoo I ordered, however, took a bit longer.

Perhaps the detour to San Juan, Puerto Rico had something to do with that.  At least my toiletries get to travel internationally!

I was running some errands on Saturday when I came across this minivan.  Wrapped for freshness, perhaps?

The sign across the front window (that was blowing in the wind) wished the owner a Happy Birthday.   With friends like that I'm not sure she needs any enemies!

In keeping with the current holiday, the visitor to the tree trunk has changed.  I haven't driven by at night yet, but it looks as though they added a solar powered light to the display.

Isn't it great that I am so easily amused?!  If I knew who was doing this, I would write them a thank you note!

A couple of weeks ago we went to a nearby parish for Sunday Mass.  They have one at 5:30pm that is just sometimes so, so conveinent.  As we were walking up the to back entrance we saw some new signs that had been recently hung up. 

Think they have a parking problem??

Funny Foto #11 - Marcie the Marvelous

We were hiking in a local park a couple of weeks ago. As we came around a bend in the path we saw this tree enclosed by a fence.  I figured the fencing was there to keep the deer from munching on it.

But, apparently this tree is special.  Very special.  The plaque at its base lets you know someone thinks a lot of this Sycamore.

I was on my way home from work one Monday evening when an old car passed in front of me as I waited to make a turn.  I did a double take.

Plenty of parking in the im-pond lot

Usually on Saturday mornings we head to the park for a hike.  We were a little surprised at what we saw on the way there yesterday.

Given all the tire tracks on the left side of the pond, I'm sure someone had to have been doing something stupid.

A couple of times we have seen cars in the front as the pond sits at bottom of a hill at the end of a really sharp curve in the road.  But the back???

I'd love to hear the story they tell their insurance company!

I drive down this road most days on the way to and from work.  On the right side there are a few houses.  On the other side is one of our county parks.  A little ways up from where this photo was taken, on the park side, is a rotted out stump of a tree.

Apparently someone thought is would make a good home to a variety of interesting characters.

Uncle Sam is there now.  I wonder who will show up next?

I’m Watching you, too!

There is a local car dealership nearby that has had a tradition of putting large inflatables on its roof. There have been snowmen and Santa Clauses at Christmas, an Easter bunny, monsters at Halloween and patriotic clad characters around other holidays. My favorite was the giant hamster.   

The dealership is right next to the highway in a commercial area that is highly trafficked. Apparently there are some in this little township that have something against these inflatables. They find them cheesey or tacky or distracting. So a battle has begun between the dealership and the township trustees in an attempt to limit and/or remove them. The trustees created a law, when read, is obvious in its intent. No inflatables are permitted with so many feet of a highway – almost exactly the distance the dealership is from it.  

Of course the dealership is fighting this regulation. And they seem to have a great sense of humor about it. I just love their latest “resident”.
